Will tech stocks come back? Particularly funds like Scottish mortgage investment trust. I have seen corrections before. But this one is making me more nervous. Thanks.
Yes, they'll be back. Understand that a recession is around the corner (maybe 2 years); also understand that the stock market has not seen its peak yet.
An inflation driven recession, a decent chance. If consumers retrench because they can't afford to buy, you bet a recession could happen. But don't fear. Not every industry falls at the same time or rate. Think in terms of what has fallen and therefor what is cheap. If it is cheap and fundamentally sound and if you don't need the money right away, buy it.
I was long in SMT until 2021 when i sold my shares because in my view they got to mutch exposure towards Tesla. After that SMT reached 1500 GBp and then corrected until around 900 today. NAV = GBp 970 I stay at the sideline.
Of course, the present and future is all about technology. Big tech stock is overvalued - but after the 10% Nasdaq correction in 2022 so far we're going in the right direction. I think in 5 years some new large players maybe on the field.
Yep, but it can go lower because we have a big (financial) exposure to that famous warr in Europe. Also, their techexposure is at present only 16.83% of their portfolio.
I had been on the sidelines of the market but with big tech names going down as much as 50%, it seemed like a worthwhile risk to take my little money out of savings and toss it on the market. Right now 52% of my portfolio is in Tech, I feel very strongly about a Tech rebound and sooner rather than later. I am prepared for possibly another couple weeks of slide but we might have hit the bottom also. Today was a nice day in the Green. Portfolio Breakdown: 52% Tech 29% Finance 19% Consumer Goods I have JUST re-entered the market so I will definitely look to broaden my portfolio but that's where things stand today.
This is a time to have cash and potentially make some money. Bought some FB today @ $209 and will monitor to potentially add incrementally. Also, looking to add to my NVDA holdings.
