Just wanted to get some opinions/thoughts on after hrs trading,...some stocks seem more active then others after hrs.....and now to my little gripe that I will chalk up to "inexperience",.... I purchased a stock on Friday right after the closing bell,...not realizing that it would go up 10% after hrs,... so when the market opened on Monday I paid the opening cost at 10% higher then I intended.... Lesson learned of course;.. never purchase after the closing bell.

I'll say always use limit orders in the aftermarket hours... instead of market orders

I always use limit orders. Full stop.

My experience has been the opposite. I've picked up a lot of bargains in after hours trading. I occasionally place a long term limit order (30+ days), well under market. I've had these orders fill below any recorded price. It usually happens off hours.

    Thank you, dark pools.

I put a response to you in my blog thread. It seemed more appropriate there.
