Stockaholics Weekly T/A Charting Challenge Rules & Guidelines:

1.) Participants will take turns each week to post up a chart.

2.) Participants (including the chart picker) will need to then vote on the direction of the chart for the week (starting points from Friday's close), and will have up until 9:30am eastern time on the first trading day of the week. There will be a new poll up for each new week. Members who correctly predict the direction (Up or Down) of the chart by week's end will receive 10 points in the members leaderboard for that week.

3.) Members who also provide some rationale for their direction vote (this can be brief) will be awarded another 2 points in the members leaderboard.

4.) Members who simply "participate" in the challenge will receive 1 point for the week.

Remember...the chart direction poll closes at the opening bell on the first trading day of the new week! So try to get those votes in ASAP!

So, w/o getting into further ado have at it with the T/A on this week's charting challenge!

(Chart to be posted in here sometime after the market closes on Friday.)

Went with UP. It appears to be under accumulation by the CM in the short term as tests below preliminary support (PS) of the selling climax (SC) have been on lower and lower volume; the supply of stock for sale is drying up. Next week's pivot is at $6.36. I'm guessing it will test that and finish up the week higher to test the monthly pivot at $7.07. Alternatively, a spring of the selling climax (SC) at 5.71; a run of the stops, would be a great entry particularly if followed by a sign of strength (SOS).

FWIW, I think the 6 to 7 range is where it should hold on the basis of support to halt the downslide -- there's a decent chunk of historical volume at that price range if you superimpose a "volume by price" graph onto a 3-year chart of weekly prices. So from that perspective, I'd flip a coin to discern "up" or "down" in the coming week. That said, and to offer a contrarian perspective to the votes thus far, I don't like how (on the weekly chart) a ton of volume was expended 3 weeks ago and the price ended at the bottom of a range producing a wick 3/4ths as long as the 30% price drop the week before that. The effort (and volume) in the two weeks since (to my eyes) looks like a great deal of investor indecision as to which way this should go, and I don't see that as a positive sign given the depth of the downtrend slide begun in late March. So, for the next week, I'm voting...

Initial look for me, I see the 5 ema below the 13 ema so it is in a downtrend. But it looks like it is finding support at the 6.00 point. To the point that it closed the week near the high. This week's pivot is at 6.36, and I'm going to guess it stays above that pivot this week. If it doesn't watch out that the daily, weekly, and monthly time frams have the 5 ema below the 13 ema.
