KWESST develops and commercializes breakthrough next-generation tactical systems that meet the requirements of security forces and personal defense for overmatch capability against adversaries. The company's current portfolio of unique proprietary offerings include its unique non-lethal Low Energy Cartridge (LEC) system with application across all segments of the non-lethal market, including law enforcement and personal defence. KWESST is also involved in the digitization of tactical forces for shared situational awareness and targeting with its signature TASCSTM (Tactical Awareness and Situational Control System) for real-time awareness and targeting information from any source (including drones) streamed directly to users' smart devices and weapons. Other KWESST products include counter-measures against threats such as drones, lasers and electronic detection. These include the autonomous GreyGhostTM soldier-portable micro drone missile system that defends against small hostile drones including swarms using high-speed kinetic impact; a Ground Laser Defence system to counter the emerging threat of weaponized lasers against personnel and the PhantomTM electronic battlefield decoy system to mask the electromagnetic signature of friendly forces with decoy signatures at false locations to deceive and confuse adversaries. These systems can operate stand-alone or integrate seamlessly with OEM products and battlefield management systems.

    • ii)Military and law enforcement training (realistic force-on-force training);
    • iii)Personal defence (home, car, boat, RB, camping, hiking); and
    • iv)High-action gaming.
Since the acquisition, we made significant progress in developing and testing initial LEC prototypes. We are on schedule to commercially launch our initial LEC product suite at the upcoming 2022 Shot Show®. (January 18, 2021)

KWESST announces $400,000 in police orders for ARWEN products
January 10th, 2022 – KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE and OTCQB: KWEMF) (“KWESST” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has received orders from three law enforcement agencies for approximately $400,000 in ARWEN products (all values in CAD). One order from an overseas national police agency is for approximately $250,000 to be shipped next month. The other two orders are from Canadian law enforcement agencies, with one order shipped in late December 2021 and the other scheduled to ship this month.

“It is gratifying to see this early acceleration in the pace of orders from our recent acquisition of ARWEN,” said Jeff MacLeod, Founder, President and CEO of KWESST. “This reinforces our conviction that there is strong growth potential for ARWEN products around the world, particularly in an environment of heightened civil unrest and anxiety about rising crime.”

In conjunction with its acquisition of the ARWEN business in December 2021, KWESST noted that ARWEN is a highly respected brand in the industry, with under-exploited potential. Its reach into the law enforcement community could accelerate KWESST’s introduction of its non-lethal Low Energy Cartridge (“LEC”) system to police agencies. The first LEC products are to be showcased at the 2022 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, January 18-21.

KWESST announces branding of non-lethal Low Energy Cartridge (LEC) system in conjunction with launch at SHOT Show 2022 – Booth # 40022
    https://kwesst.com/news/kwesst-anno...on-with-launch-at-shot-show-2022-booth-40022/

January 14th, 2022 – KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE and OTCQB: KWEMF) (“KWESST” or the “Company”) today announced that it will be launching its non-lethal Low Energy Cartridge (LEC) product line under the brand PARA OPS in conjunction with the opening of the 2022 SHOT Show in Las Vegas January 18-21. The PARA OPS website which can be found at www.para-ops.com and it will go live the on January 17, the day before the SHOT Show. You can visit KWESST at the SHOT Show at booth #40022.

    The technology

The patent-pending PARA OPS technology is a breakthrough in non-lethal systems. It combines the reliability of a cartridge with a polymer projectile in a low-energy self-stabilizing configuration for accuracy. There is no gunpowder, compressed air or CO2. Projectiles come in a choice of payloads appropriate to the mission, whether personal defense, public order or realistic tactical simulation. Cartridges fire from a low-cost dedicated launcher that can look like a firearm, a TV remote control, a flashlight, or any hybrid or custom design. Launchers fire only PARA OPS cartridges and will not accept live ammunition. Projectile payloads include incapacitating pepper powder, inert colored powder for training, and solid slugs for practice or pain compliance.

    First product introduction

Initial products showcased at the SHOT Show are the PARA OPS first offerings for the personal defense and security market, a re-loadable single-shot launcher with built-in laser sight, light and high-decibel alarm, for multi-deterrent capability in a compact package that packs a .67 caliber projectile with incapacitating pepper powder.

As well, on display will be the big brother five-shot flashlight with quick-change magazine, high-lumen light, laser pointer and high-decibel alarm. Like the single shot, the projectile payload for operational use is incapacitating pepper powder, with inert practice variants also available.

Also, on display at SHOT Show will be the first pistol and carbine versions of PARA OPS automatic firing platforms and cartridges, coming this summer. This product line will appeal to customers with operational applications for incapacitating threats at greater distance with pepper powder projectiles, or for realistic force on force tactical training using inert colored powder projectiles.

    ATF Classification

At the time of publication, the Company is still awaiting classification by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”). This is expected in the near future, but until KWESST receives the ATF classification, it cannot formally accept orders for the PARA OPS launchers and munitions. However, interested purchasers can submit their email address at the PARA OPS website as of January 17 to obtain updates on ATF classification, date of product availability and final pricing as it becomes availabl

    Law enforcement
Many law enforcement agencies are in the process of reviewing their less-lethal policies and options, some of whom have contacted the Company for information on PARA OPS. The Company is engaging on a collaborative basis with a handful of these agencies to evaluate and obtain feedback on PARA OPS products. Interested agencies can enquire at the PARA OPS website starting Monday, January 17, 2022 by clicking on the registration button.

    Product evolution and roll-out

The PARA OPS product line will include launchers in various designs to serve different customer needs and non-lethal missions. Where quantities warrant, PARA OPS will provide custom designed launchers, for example a compact duty belt device for law enforcement and security.

PARA OPS has partnered with Stryk Group USA (www.strykgroup.com) to commercialize its products through digital media as well as traditional distribution channels. Stryk Group leverages over 40 years of industry relationships for end-to-end high-impact services to the world’s leading hunting, camping fishing and firearms brands.

KWESST updates investors on use of its ARWEN anti-riot device at trucker protest in Ottawa, Canada
February 22nd – 2022 – Ottawa – KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE and OTCQB: KWEMF) (“KWESST” or “the Company”) today provided an update and commentary for shareholders regarding media reports that police in Ottawa, Canada used the Company’s ARWEN anti-riot device on aggressive protesters in Ottawa.

The ARWEN fires various kinds of anti-riot munitions including a blunt impact “baton” round intended to temporarily stun an aggressive subject without causing serious injury. KWESST acquired the ARWEN product line in December 2021.

The Company stated that the ARWEN system is used routinely throughout North America and overseas and has a tremendous safety record. Greg Sullivan, who heads KWESST’S ARWEN business unit said, “We do not normally comment on incidents but are providing information for investors in this instance because the media has reported on the product by name and because there has been global coverage and attention to the trucker protest in Ottawa.”

According to various international media reports over the past two days, law enforcement agencies on site at the Ottawa protest used the ARWEN system to stop demonstrators who were exhibiting aggressive or violent behaviour. The media also reported no serious injuries were sustained by demonstrators or police.

Media reports also state that the incident is under investigation by the Ontario Special Investigation Unit (“SIU”). The Company noted that such an investigation is mandatory under the Ontario Special Investigations Unit Act anytime police use a firearm of any kind whether or not injuries were sustained.

Greg Sullivan, himself a former police officer and trainer, added: “It is always challenging for authorities to deal in a measured way with protesters when they turn aggressive, especially in a major high-profile incident that has attracted world attention. Our goal is to protect life on both sides. We are therefore pleased to hear reports of a safe conclusion to this incident, which is precisely the intended purpose of the ARWEN system.”

Feb 23, 2022 | Combat Capability, Digital Army, News

    ...
KWESST Micro Systems, a four-year-old start-up founded by Jeff MacLeod, a former Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineer officer, is one of just a handful of companies, and the only Canadian one, to receive authorization by the U.S. Department of Defense to develop military ATAK plug-ins. Authorization was granted over a year ago when the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory requested the company integrate ATAK into a proprietary integrated fires module (IFM) product KWESST was designing for 81mm mortar platoons.
    ...
All this positions KWESST well when it comes to the Army’s aspirations for Land C4ISR capability development over the next few years. With confirmation by DLR staff that the Android Team Awareness Kit will be part of the evolution of the ISSS, ATAK likely becomes an underlying building block when architecting solutions for Joint Fires Modernization, TacC2IS Modernization, and TacComms Modernization.

KWESST’s knowledge and experience developing and integrating ATAK-based network and IFM solutions within a larger command-and-control architecture allows the company to “propose a unique and differentiated set of offerings particularly suited to the dismounted operating domain,” said Bowes.

    Counter-Threat
The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has been a major recent catalyst for KWESST’s PhantomTM electronic decoy, with several pending requests and price quotations to fill Urgent Operational Requirements (“UOR”) for NATO forces. The level of interest and the urgency encourages the Company to believe that it is highly likely it could receive NATO country orders throughout its 2022 fiscal year and beyond.
    ...
Hostilities are creating similar interest in the Company’s Battlefield Laser Defense System (“BLDS”) that detects and locates lasers, including weaponized lasers, with first orders from two overseas NATO countries pending.

    Non-lethal
The immediate effect of events like the trucker protests has been a pronounced increase in demand by law enforcement agencies for non-lethal equipment. As announced February 22, the Company’s ARWEN TM anti-riot equipment was used at the trucker protest in Ottawa, Canada to help bring a safe conclusion to the incident. The Company is now processing numerous quote requests for replenishment and expansion of anti-riot equipment.

I believe this stock is near its bottom and the company has lots of potential in the next few months. There are not many micro caps defense companies out there.

The KWESST Integrated Fires Module (IFM) is your answer for the enablement of organic precision fires within the infantry battalion or SOF tactical team. Utilizing KWESST’s proprietary ballistics computational algorithms and integrated through Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK), KWESST IFM capability has reduced calls for fire from 15 minutes to 75 seconds for first round on target.

The catalysts in the Dec 2021 presentation obviously got another boost due to the ongoing Russia/Ukraine conflict. First orders by NATO countries are pending. The share price should be back above $1 soon imo.

How To Rebuild The German Military — Europe's Best Hope To Deter Putin
    March 24, 2022

"The promise by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz of a special fund of 100 billion euros and future annual defense spending of more than 2% of the country's GDP is a good starting point. But it is no substitute for the fundamental questions regarding German defense policy that need to be answered as quickly as possible."

"In addition to equipment, there are other structural issues that are a works-in-progress, such as appropriate digitization of the land forces."
