What one thing would you do, if you were a billionaire? I wish to stress "one thing" so we can see who can follow the most simple idea and who cannot. :D

I would eat a small bowl of stuffed olives, every day. I'd have perhaps five for breakfast and finish the bowl in the evening, while watching TV.

I would tell you what I think about that idea but I'm sure you already know.

Not much different to how I live now. I’m happy with very little. I’d likely spoil my niece and nephews a lot more. Become a proper eccentric aunt that builds 4 tier treehouses in their garden with a pool filled with marshmallows. I probably shouldn’t be trusted with that much money.

(I’m counting ‘become an eccentric’ as one general idea!)

I would hire @TomB16 to manage my finances. That's my one thing.

We have some of these problems in our family, also. In two cases, individuals have been willed enough money to easily solve these problems. In both cases, these people have more problems now than they did before the financial gifts.

    It's heartbreaking.

The older I get, the less need I have for materialism. As I get older, my ability to engage in materialism has gone up exponentially.

The more I have stuff, the more I realize that having stuff is not directly connected to happiness. People need a bit of stuff. Having more/nicer stuff is great. But, there is a level at which having a ton of stuff makes people less happy. And yet, it is extremely difficult for people to simplify their lives with material divestment.

This is the origin thought behind this thread. If you had infinite wealth, how would it affect your life? Maybe we are closer than we think to an ideal level of materialism?

I couldn't agree with you more but I believe that the more money you have the more considerably you could change the life of your relatives and the life of people around you.

I hope you would all make a few businesses. Make some more money and hire people. Good to pass on to family when you kick the bucket also.
