New guy here, but not new to stock investing. I starting investing in stocks about 30-years ago. Had good luck early on and have been investing in the market since. I am traditionally a buy and hold investor. I like high dividend stocks,ETF's, and utilities. This has been a hard year for me, and my stocks have lost 17% in value this year. But, my return for last year was bit in excess of 22%. Currently I am buying one year CD's every month or so, and will continue to ladder CD's until I think the market is near the bottom.
Thanks for the replies! I am still working on how to navigate the forum. It will take me a few weeks to get used to how it is set up. Watching the market today with interest. Waiting for tomorrow to see what Powell does, and possible that this week will be a good time for me to put some more CD's in my portfolios. I am not ready to call a bottom yet!
Welcome, Crabby. It's great to see another long term investor on the site. There are several of us by now. You may wish to check out the Long Term Investor thread in the Investing forum. That thread is home to a few long term investors. I look forward to exchanging thoughts with you in the near future.
