Short-term bulls in Home Depot Traders are looking for gains in Home Depot by the end of next week. optionMONSTER's market scanner shows that 5,200 Weekly 131 calls expiring on Oct. 14 were purchased for $0.40 to $1.04 yesterday. This represents fresh buying, as open interest in the strike was only 186 contracts before the session began. Big crowds in Home Depot stores all over southern Florida, buying everything from generators to wood planks to secure windows and doors.
As usual, I should have gotten in this before the hurricanes started hitting. Talked about it with a coworker when they started talking about the first hurricane about to hit Texas. Up 5%ish since then, like it seems to always be after a natural disaster.
Scooped some of this and played the breakout. So far so good: The downside is that this is uncharted territory so it is going to be interesting trying to determine when to exit.
