Looks like it'll be making landfall as a strong Cat 4 somewhere along Louisiana. I found it really insane though how today happens to mark the 16 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Like literally that happened 16 years on this very day. Dafuq. :eek2:

Anyway, maybe no surprises as we're now very close to the peak of the hurricane season here, albeit it's been largely quiet this year, for the exception of this one which is likely to be a pretty destructive one again unfortunately. Hopefully New Orleans, and all of those areas that got hit hard from Katrina 16 years ago are fully prepared this go around. Was a yuuuge disaster from what I remember then.

Anybody from Louisiana? I heard the impact of hurricane Ida was devastating. Two million Louisianans remained without power for a fourth day

I'm hearing that New Orleans may be without power for weeks. At least the levees held this time.

Multiple subways are underwater as well. While that was going on, the northeast was seeing tornados. Stay safe up there. Oh and don't forget, Louisiana and parts of Mississippi are without power still as well.
